St Neots Cross Country Relay Championships began well with Team BG entering 2 teams of boys and 2 teams of girls, for the first time in a number of years! The course was new to many of the runners, the majority of whom were from year 5, so a quick walk around the track calmed nerves before the races. The girls’ teams went off first, loudly cheered on by supporting parents, staff and the rest of the BG team. The boys’ teams followed not long after, with the girls cheering them on from the sideline. An impressive race was run by each individual child; strength, determination and speed were displayed by every runner.
Following a successful number of years for our boys’ teams, we are pleased to announce that we are now the Girls Small Schools Champions! The cup has taken pride of place in our trophy cabinet. A fantastic effort from all 4 teams securing some excellent finishing positions. Bring on next year!

South Cambs Cross-Country Championships The success of the running club has been assured by our recent performance in the South Cambs Cross-Country Championships held on Royston Heath. Even though we unfortunately had to relinquish our winners’ trophy from last year, we finished second, following an incredibly consistent performance by all of our four teams. Out of 600 competitors we were only 3 points behind the winners Linton Heights. A special mention to our Year 5 girls team - made up primarily of Year 4 girls who came third. |
