Dear Parents/carers
Sponsored Walk
As our sponsored walk was postponed last week because of the weather, we would like to try again next Friday, 28th June. We aim to leave school as soon as we are ready, and will have returned by lunchtime. This will be instead of celebration assembly, so we would love to have the company of some parents on our walk. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that the weather is kinder to us this time!
Sports Day
Sports Day on July 5th is fast approaching. This year, the PTA will be offering a Sports Day Breakfast of bacon rolls, bacon and fried egg rolls, fried egg rolls, croissants and drinks for parents after drop-off while the children are getting ready. Please see the attached order form (all orders must be placed by July 1st).
Piano Lessons
Would you like your child to learn to play the piano? Please see the attached flyer for more information about how to sign up for lessons with Mrs Pumfrey starting in September.
Swimming
Please make sure your child has their swimming kit on:
Class 1 - Mondays and Fridays
Class 2 - Wednesdays and Fridays
Class 3 - Mondays and Thursdays
Class 4 - Wednesdays and Thursdays
Special Menu – Wednesday 26th June – chosen by Class 3

Summer Holiday Family Yoga Classes
Following her visit to celebration assembly this morning to talk about family yoga and the club that she will be running at school next year, Marta Maj has asked me to share the following information with you:
The summer holiday starts in less than two months. Lots of parents have already started planning activities for children over the summer. MM Health and Fitness would like to help families to spend valuable time together this summer. We would like to offer Summer Holiday Family Yoga classes for parents and children age 5-10. To make sure that we offer the classes at the most convenient time and day we would like to hear from you. We have designed a short questionnaire accessible on line: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/J9VZRCS or you can contact Marta Maj at marta.maj@mmhealthandfitness.co to indicate the days and times which are most convenient for you. The classes will be held in the Ellesmere Community Centre and in Newmarket. The cost of the family ticket per class will be £8-10.
What is Family Yoga?
Family Yoga is designed for parents and children age 5-8 and 9-11. FY gives parents and children opportunity to spend a valuable time away from mobile devices, to play together yoga games and learn relaxation techniques. FY helps children feel grounded, develop a firm stance and improve posture. Yoga games played at the sessions are great fun and serve various educational goals applicable to yoga, and physical education.
Power of Family Yoga
Yoga builds compassion and self-awareness and can soothe parents and children during challenging times. Yogis of all ages gain a sense of peace and calm, as well as confidence, through the practice of Yoga. Once children begin to feel and experience the benefits of Yoga, they will have an inner resource to call on when parents are not around.
