5th March 2021
Dear Parents and Carers
Return to full opening on March 8th
Please make sure you have read the FAQ document so that you and your children know what to expect! We are very excited to have you back!
Please book your child’s school lunch in advance on School Grid, so that the kitchen can order supplies!
Comic Relief - Friday 19th March
This year we are rather limited about the things that we can do in school, but we would still like to support this very worthwhile charity. On Friday 19th March, we will be having a non-uniform day in return for a donation. (For safety reasons, no red noses, please!)
COVID rapid-testing for families
Any households (or support bubbles) where any member is attending an education setting are now eligible for asymptomatic testing at home. This means that you are able to collect, or order online, boxes of lateral flow rapid tests for adult members of your family (and support bubble) to use twice-weekly at home. This will help to identify asymptomatic cases in our community and make schools safer. Please remember that these kits are only for adults to use – secondary school children will get their tests from their school, and primary school children are not being tested.
There is a poster with more information here and also attached to this newsletter which includes details of how to order or collect your test kits.
Parents and carers of children who need to self-isolate during the pandemic may be eligible for a one-off payment of £500 from the Government's Test and Trace Support Payment Scheme. The payment aims to offer support to parents and carers who are having to take time off work with their children or are facing other expenses. Further information on the support available in your area can be found here:
Message from the Local Authority
Maintaining the Safety of your Family
The safety of our children, parents and school staff is, and always will be, our number one priority.
To keep staff and children safe, we ask that you continue to follow the national lockdown rules. Specifically, we ask the following –
- Limit visits to schools sites – we request that only one parent bring your child and arrive at school on time and leave the site promptly. Please follow the advice given by schools on collecting your children.
- Please return home promptly – play-dates and outdoor play or meeting in groups remains prohibited under the current government restrictions. The Local Authority will support schools to take robust action when they consider that parents are not following the rules of lockdown.
- Ensure you follow preventative measures at home including handwashing as soon as you enter your home.
We very much look forward to welcoming all children back to school on the 8th March.
