Dear Parents/carers

New Website and Communications Hub

Next week, your child will bring home information about how to download our communications app, including your login details.  We have created individual logins for people who are listed as priority 1 and 2 contacts according to the information that parents have provided to school.  If you have any problems with the app, just ask!

Open afternoon

Just to remind you that, because it is such a short half term, we are extending current projects by a week.  The children will be sharing their project work on Monday 10th June at 3:00pm.  This means that home learning projects do not have to be completed until 10th June.

Class Photos

These will be taken on the morning of June 5th.  If you do not want your child to be in their class photograph, please email the office office@burroughgreen.cambs.sch,uk to let us know.

Sponsored Walk

On Thursday 13th June, we will be taking the children on a sponsored walk to Brinkley to raise money for the PTA. Your child will have a letter and a sponsor form in their bag today.  Please support us to raise money for new equipment, and to support our vists/visitors events.

French Trip

Mme Kelly has organised a trip to the Europa Centre in London for Class 4 on Friday 14th June.  If you have not yet paid your contribution of £15 on Agora, please do so as soon as possible.

Holidays in School Time

I would like to remind parents that the law does not grant parents/carers an automatic right to take their children out of school during term time, and parents must request that the absence be authorised by the school. If the circumstances are considered to be exceptional, the authorising of the absence will be conditional on the child/children having good attendance up to the point of the absence.  If your request is refused and you choose to take your child out of school, this will be recorded as an unauthorised absence.  Unauthorised absence may make you liable to a Penalty Notice of £60 per child, payable by each parent/carer, or the subject of court proceedings with could result in a fine of up to £2,500 and/or a term of imprisonment of up to 3 months.

This information is also found on the absence request forms that can be obtained from the office.  I would like to point out that holidays (including visiting relatives abroad) are not considered exceptional circumstances and will not be authorised.  Failure to request absence could also lead to the penalties listed above.

PTA Quiz, BBQ and Auction

On Saturday, 15th June, PTA are holding a quiz night.  Please see the attached flyers.
