Sponsored 'Circuits for the Pool'
The children were amazing this morning doing circuits to raise money to get our pool open! There were lots of smiling faces, and some fantastic resilience shown. We’re very proud of them! Thank you for your sponsorship and support. Please send all forms and money in by Friday 25th March. Click here for the link to see photos on our website.
Congratulations!
Miss Chubb is delighted to announce that she is expecting a baby in September and that Seth is very excited about becoming a big brother! We are all excited too!
Wear a Hat Day for Brain Tumour Research - Friday 25th March
March is Brain Tumour Awareness Month. This is a cause very close to our hearts at Burrough Green - Learrne Hind, one of our TAs, and Sara Hammond’s grandson, Rhean, have both been receiving treatment for brain tumours. You can read more about brave Rhean’s story by following the link below.
For this reason, we have chosen not to collect for Red Nose Day this March, but to wear a hat and collect donations for Brain Tumour research instead. Please support us by wearing a hat to school on March 25th. It can be any kind of hat – you could even make your own if you want to! We will collect donations on the day, or you can make a donation by visiting https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/BurroughGreenPrimary
Covid Update
We have no new cases in children, but Mrs Pizey has, unfortunately, been unwell with covid this week. Michelle Mingay is still very unwell with covid since catching it before half term, and we are missing her very much. We know that covid rates are extremely high in the community at the moment. Please be vigilant if your children are unwell - losing staff to covid is making it incredibly difficult for us to keep all classes open at BG at the moment.
Travelling Book Fair
Thank you for all your purchases from the Book fair. Every book you bought helped towards free books for our school.

PTA News
Sponsored Circuits for the Pool
A huge thankyou to the children, school staff and parents / carers for supporting this event to raise money for the swimming pool. We hope that the children enjoyed their sporting activities in this gorgeous sunshine! As I write, you have already generously donated over £500 on the online page with the promise of more to come - thankyou. Just to clarify that if you have donated via the online page, you do not have to complete a paper form as well. We would ask that all sponsorship monies be given online or into the office by next Friday (25th March) so that we can provide a final total as soon as possible.
Volunteers to maintain and run the pool
Again, an enormous thankyou to those who have offered to help with checking and dosing the pool and those who have signed up to help man after school swim sessions. We have confirmed with school today that they have had so many offers of help that they are over-subscribed! We understand that the office has already spoken with volunteers regarding training. For those volunteers who have not yet been contacted directly by the office, the school and PTA thanks you for your kind offers of help but your assistance is not required currently. How lucky we are to have such a willing body of parents and carers!
Fundraising without having to give a penny.....!
In February we received a £242.82 pay-out to the PTA and it didn’t cost you a penny! This was from the Easyfundraising.org.uk - money for the PTA whilst doing your usual shopping. There are lots of retailers and service providers on the list, businesses you normally shop with anyway. Even if you log into your favourite retailer through the app half way through, it saves your basket, so you don’t have to do anything different. Try it, it really does make a difference https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk
