Dear Parents/carers

For dates of future events, please regularly check the school calendar on our e-schools app and on our website:  http://www.burroughgreen.cambs.sch.uk

New School Lunch Menu – please re-book your child’s lunches

This week we have had a meeting with Dolce (our school meal catering provider) to discuss the school meals on offer and our concerns regarding lack of choice and overly repetitive menus.  As a result, Dolce have offered us a new menu, starting on Monday which does include more options each day.  However, this means that any lunches that you have pre-booked from Monday (27th January) onwards have been cancelled and you will need to re-book using the new, improved menu.  We are very grateful that you book in advance as it helps to reduce waste and our impact on the environment.  The new menu will be circulated by tomorrow morning, it is available now to book through School Grid.

Book Fair

We will have the book fair in school next week (27th - 31st January), and there are some fantastic books on offer.

Please do not send any money to school with your child, as this has led to loss of money and has caused upset and disruption to the children’s learning in school in the past.

The children will have the chance to browse the bookcases during the school day without making purchases in order to see what they would like to buy.

Between 3:30 and 4:15 Monday – Thursday, the book fair will be open for parents to come and purchase books with their children.

If your child travels on the bus, so you are unable to visit the book fair with them to purchase books, please send them to school with a sealed envelope containing the purchase price of the book your child would like.  The envelope must be clearly labelled with the child’s name, class, which book they would like to buy and how much money is in the envelope.  The children must give this envelope to their class teacher in the morning, and they will be given the book before they go home.

Plant to Plate

Remember, tokens will be published daily in the East Anglian Daily Times (two on Saturday) and Ipswich Star – the first token appeared on Saturday 18th January 2020, final token on Friday 27th March 2020. Please bring your tokens into school by the end of March.  Thank you!  Mrs Brusell will restart gardening club for the children on Wednesday lunchtimes in the spring.

PTA Bingo afternoon – a date for your diary!

The PTA are holding a family Bingo afternoon on Sunday February 2nd, 3-5pm in the School Hall. Further information will follow.
