Dear Parents/carers
We have reached the end of another half term, and it has been short, but busy! The Y6 and Y2 children have completed their SATs, and we are very proud of their positive attitude and resilience. Sports teams have represented the school at cross-country and tennis, with some outstanding performances. This week, a team of four Y5 children took part in the County Maths Challenge at Bellbird School, and received a commendation for their teamwork. Blue team are currently ahead in the merit competition, but the other teams are not far behind! There are lots of events to look forward to next term: a team day, the sponsored walk, sportsday, and the KS2 production among them. I hope the good weather holds and you all have an enjoyable and restful break next week.
PTA Quiz, BBQ and Auction
On Saturday, 15th June, the PTA is holding a quiz night. (Please see the attached poster and ticket order form – the children have an order form in their book bags). Please come and support the PTA – their financial support for our school is vital. It promises to be a very entertaining evening, and I know there are some great prizes for the auction. Please send ticket order forms to the office.

MM Health and Fitness would like to help families to spend valuable time together this summer. We would like to offer Summer Holiday Family Yoga classes for parents and children age 5-10. To make sure that we offer the classes at the most convenient time and day we would like to hear from you. The classes will be held in the Ellesmere Community Centre and in Newmarket. The cost of the family ticket per class will be £8-10.
What is Family Yoga?
Family Yoga is designed for parents and children age 5-8 and 9-11. FY gives parents and children opportunity to spend a valuable time away from mobile devices, to play together yoga games and learn relaxation techniques. FY helps children feel grounded, develop a firm stance and improve posture. Yoga games played at the sessions are great fun and serve various educational goals applicable to yoga, and physical education.
Power of Family Yoga
Yoga builds compassion and self-awareness and can soothe parents and children during challenging times. Yogis of all ages gain a sense of peace and calm, as well as confidence, through the practice of Yoga. Once children begin to feel and experience the benefits of Yoga, they will have an inner resource to call on when parents are not around.
