Dear Parents and Carers
To see what’s been happening at BGPS, please visit our website and Twitter feed
School Meals
Please can you pre-book your child’s meal before coming to school in the morning. You are able to pre-book for the whole half term. This is to avoid children not having a school dinner, of their choosing, as we cook to order to avoid waste.
Burrough Green Reading Room
Burrough Green Reading room is open every Thursday 3.30pm-5pm (term time only) for anyone to feel free and come into a warm place and have a drink and refreshments. There are games for children to play while parents have a good chat.
Poppy Appeal
Next week in school we will be collecting donations for the Royal British Legion Poppy appeal. We have a variety of items as well as the traditional poppies: zip pulls (suggested donation £1), poppy reflector tags (suggested donation £1), silicon wristbands (suggested donation £1), and snap bands (suggested donation £1.50). Please bring cash in from Monday 7th November in a named envelope. We have enough snap bands for one per child.
Reminder: Open Event for Reception pupils for September 2023
Is your child due to start school in Reception in September 2023? (Born between 1 September 2018 and 31st August 2019) Do you know anyone else who has a child due to start?
Our next open session for parents to come and visit us to find out more about BGPS and Malala Class is Wednesday 9th November between 2pm and 3pm. Please call the school office on 01638 507236 to book a visit.
Upcoming Events
Please make sure you check our school calendar to stay up-to-date with information about future events, term dates, training days etc. Important dates are added to the calendar long before being listed in the “coming up soon…” section of our weekly newsletter, so it is important to look at the calendar regularly to see what’s happening in the future.

PTA News
Nutty Natter from the PTA chair ….
The PTA have some fun dates to add to the calendar (all will be revealed over the next few weeks!) but we would appreciate any feedback or ideas for future events.
Reminder: My School Fund
In association with Argos and Sainsbury’s, we have a new way to fundraise for the school when you are shopping. Every time you make a purchase, both you and BG benefit with cashback. A flyer is attached to this email. Click on the link to register as an individual and link your account to the school. https://www.myschoolfund.org/#/
Amazon Smile - Please remember to use Amazon Smile and nominate 'Burrough Green PTA and Friends' as your chosen charity. For each purchase, the PTA receives a small percentage donation from Amazon at no extra cost to you. It's a really simple way to donate without even realising it!

Easyfundraising.org - Money for the PTA whilst doing your usual shopping. There are lots of retailers and service providers on the list, businesses you normally shop with anyway. Even if you log into your favourite retailer through the app half way through, it saves your basket, so you don’t have to do anything different. Try it, it really does make a difference https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk
