Christmas 2021 at BGPS

Post Box

If your child would like to send Christmas cards to their friends, the BGPS Christmas Postal Service will be operating as usual this year.  The post box will be in the atrium from Friday 3rd December until Wednesday 15th December.  Please make sure that all envelopes are marked clearly with the recipient’s full name (forename and surname) and their class (Obama, Teresa, Einstein or Malala).

“Elfridges” Christmas Sale – Friday 3rd December

The Christmas elves have been very busy preparing for an Elfridges Christmas Present Sale at school on Friday 3rd December! This is a chance for children to buy presents for their family (and pets!) without losing any of the surprise!  Children will have a chance to wrap their presents too. Each gift will cost £1. Please send your child into school with their money on the day, no more than £4.  Please make sure that all money is in an envelope or purse clearly marked with your child’s full name and the amount of money they have brought.  It is a good idea to have talked to your child in advance about who they are buying presents for – you could write this on the envelope too, to help them!

Einstein and Malala Christmas Performances – Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th December

If you are a parent of a child/children in Einstein or Malala Class, please make sure you have completed the seat request form.

Christmas Lunch and Christmas Jumper Day – Friday 10th December

We will be in festive spirit, and raising some money for Save the Children at the same time.  Minimum donation £1, please.  If your child does not have a Christmas jumper, you could decorate one, or wear a jumper that is a bright festive colour!  The children will also be doing a “Santa Dash” – so if they have a (named) Santa hat to wear, they could bring that too!

Don’t forget to book your child’s Christmas Lunch by Friday 3rd December https://app.schoolgrid.co.uk/

Christmas Carol Singing – Friday 17th December

Normally, we would ask you all to join us on the final afternoon of term at the church for our carol service.  As Cambridgeshire is currently an Enhanced Response Area due to the rate of Covid in the county, the Local Authority has asked us not to host parent events where large numbers of people would be close together indoors, particularly with the added transmission risk of singing.  This means that we cannot gather together in the church this year.

Instead, we would like to invite you to join us in the school playground at 2pm on our last afternoon, Friday 17th December, for some socially distanced Christmas Carol singing.  This is weather dependent, but hopefully we will have a bright sunny day, and can wrap up warm!

If you are able to join us, you will be able to take your child home with you after the Carol Singing.
