Dear Parents and Carers
For details of future events, please visit our website www.burroughgreen.cambs.sch.uk to view our calendar.
Our response to possible COVID cases
Please read the attached letter which explains our response to possible COVID cases in school. If your child has a cold, and not symptoms of COVID (high temperature, persistent dry cough, altered sense of taste and smell) and they are well enough, then they can attend school.
We have the Bikeability trainers with us next week (Monday – Thursday) for those children in year 5 and 6 who have signed up to take part. Please make sure that you have checked that their bicycle is in good working order, that they have a helmet (they will not be allowed to participate without a helmet), and that they have outerwear appropriate to the weather – they will be outside even if it rains!
Jeans for Genes – Tuesday 15th September
We would like to support the charity Genetic Disorders UK by wearing jeans next Tuesday, 15th September. If your child does not have any jeans, or does not like wearing jeans, they can still take part by wearing a different non-uniform trouser. We would ask for a minimum £1 donation. If you would like more information about the charity, please visit https://www.jeansforgenesday.org/
Grafham Visit for Class 4 – Friday 25th September
We now have a confirmed date for Class 4 to visit Grafham Water for a day of outdoor, adventurous fun – Friday 25th September. The cost of this trip is £52 and includes the cost of all of the activities and travel. Please could parents of children in Class 4 email the office firstname.lastname@example.org to give your permission for your child to visit Grafham and for us to add the £52 to your SchoolGrid payments. A letter with more details about specific activities and timings will be sent to you next week; they will have the opportunity to do some water and some land-based activities.
If your child has moved from Yr 2 to Yr 3 they are no longer entitled to KS1 Universal Infant Free School Meals. School meals are £2.45 each day, please pay directly to Dolce through school grid, https://app.schoolgrid.co.uk/
If your financial circumstances have been affected by the COVID 19 crisis you could now be entitled to Benefit Related Free School Meals.
The Covid19 crisis has also highlighted the difference between Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM) and Benefit Related Free School Meals (FSM).
The government can only offer help to those who are in receipt of Benefit Related Free School Meals so we encourage applications from all year groups.
To find out if you are eligible please fill out our simple online application form at www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/freeschoolmeals where you will receive an instant response as to your eligibility status. If you are eligible for FSM your child’s school will be informed within 3 days.
