Newsletter 12.02.2021

12th February 2021

Dear Parents and Carers

I know that this half term has been very challenging for all of you who have been at home supporting your children with remote learning.  You have done an amazing job, thank you.  Tapestry, ClassDojo and Google Classroom are filled with fantastic examples of how hard you have all been working.  Amongst the difficult times, I hope you have been able to find moments to make good memories too.  When I look at your photographs and videos, it certainly looks as if you have!

We will not be setting any work for next week – you all deserve a well-earned rest (and a huge pat on the back), and a chance to enjoy doing some different things together!

On the first day back, February 22nd, the Prime Minister is due to make an announcement about when schools will fully open again.  Like you, we have our fingers crossed that this will be soon.

Take care of each other and stay safe.

French Teaching

We will be saying goodbye this week to Madame Kelly’s French lessons, but fortunately not goodbye to Madame Kelly who will be staying with us as SENCO.  We are very happy to be welcoming Mrs Maria Marsh as our new French teacher.  She is a very experienced MFL teacher currently teaching in a number of local primary schools and I am sure she will be an asset to BGPS too!

Reminder: Free School Meal Vouchers/Winter Grant Scheme

If your child is currently receiving FSM, you should have received these automatically by email this week (unless you told us that you don’t want them).  If you need other types of assistance, please follow this link to the CCC website for more information.  The CCC letter with all of the details about FSM vouchers and the Winter Grant is attached to this newsletter or you can find more information here.

Reminder: Free Data SIMs

I still have a small number of free data SIMs that have been donated by Vodafone for families without a home broadband connection to help them to stay connected if they are using mobile data for home learning.  They come with 30GB of data free for 90 days.  Vodafone’s information leaflet is attached to this newsletter.  If you are relying on mobile data and think this would be useful, please get in touch with us.
