14th May 2021
Dear Parents and Carers
I am sure you are all aware of the government’s announcements about moving to Stage 3 of the roadmap on Monday 17th May, and are wondering how this impacts on us here at BGPS.
The DfE’s updated operational guidance for schools can be found here. It is almost entirely unchanged since January; we are still expected to follow all of the control measures we currently have in place.
This means that we have to continue to operate as we are for the time being (keeping our bubbles separate; a staggered, socially-distanced start to the day; social distancing and the wearing of face coverings; no whole-school gatherings etc.).
So, although restrictions on your out-of-school activities are easing, we ask that you continue to be conscientious in following social distancing guidelines at all times. It is also important that you continue to engage with NHS Test and Trace. Anyone with a cough, a temperature above normal or a loss of or change to their sense of taste or smell must isolate (along with their household) and take a PCR test. Children displaying any of these symptoms must not come to school. If they develop symptoms at school, we will contact you to collect them and their siblings.
The next DfE review will be prior to Stage 4 of the roadmap (June 21st) at which time we will re-evaluate our control measures.
Are you our next parent governor?
As you know, we are looking for a parent governor to join the BGPS team. I have attached the PowerPoint from Monday’s meeting. If you have any questions, or would like to talk to one of our current parent governors, please contact me or the school office. Nominations need to be back by noon on Monday 17th May.
