School Closed on Monday 21st June

Year 5 Maths Challenge
We are very excited to share that our wonderful “Year 5 Maths Challenge” team won their heat yesterday afternoon. This means that they will proceed to the Cambridgeshire final later this term.  We are so proud of their determination and teamwork!
Cambridge Kids Club
Thank you to everyone who competed the viability survey for CKC After-School Club.  Whilst demand is not very high, CKC are and I are still looking for ways to make it possible.  CKC will need additional adults to staff the club.  If you (or anyone you know) might be interested in working in wraparound care at BGPS, please see the attached information for more details.  If you are interested in the role, please contact CKC on 01223 622848 or via email   You can find out more about CKC by visiting their website
If you would like to talk to me about it, please contact me via or by ringing the school on 01638 507236.
COVID Update
Following the government’s decision not to relax COVID restrictions yet, we are still operating under all of the restrictions that have been in place since the height of the pandemic – bubbles, limited social contact, restricted adults in school etc.  As a result, we will not be able to invite parents to our sports morning this year.  We still have some uncertainty around some of the other end of term events e.g. the KS2 evening performances.  We will update you as soon as we can.

PTA News
Lands End to John O'Groats Walk
What an incredible achievement this has been on the children’s part! With 179 miles still to go on Friday and the weather continuing hot, there were no guarantees that the distance would be covered. However, the children pulled together and achieved 185 miles (!) - We are so proud of them and hope that they were able to rest a little over the weekend!
A big thankyou to all the teachers who supported the children and to everyone at home who gave moral support and encouragement!
We are so grateful for any and all sponsorship from this event - it really will make a difference for the children in school.
Could we please request any outstanding donation money via the fundraising page or sponsorship form be with the office by Tuesday 22nd June at the latest. We can then update you with a final amount raised at the end of next week.
Virtual balloon race will see the summer term finish with a bang. We will be offering the chance to buy a balloon for £3 to participate in our virtual balloon race, launching from Manaus in Brazil on 17th July. There is a chance to win some fantastic prizes - please take a look:
We will be sending out full event information in the next few days! Thank you in advance for your support Amazon Smile and Easyfundraising - these provide a great boost to PTA funds and thank you to everyone who has signed up already.
