Sports day

Thank you for joining us this morning for our sports morning – I do hope you enjoyed it.  We were so proud of the children for their aspiration, resilience and kindness as they cheered each other on to do their best.  Well done to Blue team who were our winners this year – that’s two years in succession.  I wonder who will win in 2023!

Resuscitation Training for 2023 – March 7th 2023 2pm

We are very grateful to the small group of parents who did resuscitation training this year.  Without them we would not be able to deliver swimming teaching in school, and the PTA would not be able to offer fun sessions after school – I know how much the children look forward to those.

Without parent volunteers, there would be no after-school fun sessions, and we would struggle to deliver two lessons each week during the school day for all classes.  It would be fantastic if, next summer, we had even more resuscitation-trained parents, so that the PTA could offer more fun sessions, and we could continue to provide two lessons each week to everyone.

We have booked next year’s resus training session for Tuesday 7th March 2pm.  Please come!

Upcoming Events

Make sure you check our school calendar to stay up-to-date with information about future events, term dates, training days etc.  Important dates are added to the calendar long before being listed in the “in the next few weeks…” section below, so it is important to look at the calendar regularly to see what’s happening in the future.

After School Swimming

We hope that children have enjoyed some extra time in the pool with afternoon swims - we are so grateful to the parent volunteers who make this possible.

Next week, please follow the peoplesfundraising link

We have been looking at options to make access to after school swims fairer and allow mixed KS1 and 2 swims for siblings. With only 6 volunteers with appropriate training this has been tricky, but we are looking to trial an online booking system.

As of today therefore, you can pre-book your child / children's place for swimming next week on the link below!

https://www.peoplesfundraising.com/event/BG-swimming

Any places not allocated via online booking will be on a 'first come, first served basis' and payable with cash (£2 per session)

We are asking parents not to book their child more than twice a week but may need to restrict to once a week if demand is high. Sessions will be 30 mins mixed KS1 and 2 and bookings for the following week will be available every Friday.

Please let us know what you think so that we can judge how the system is working.

Thankyou
